Production Method: Pultrusion

CarbonWebshop’s products can be divided into three different basic types. The fiber orientation of the three types is different, resulting in different flexing and torsional performance. The choice depends on the performance you are looking for in an application. There is also a clear price difference between the three types.

Pultrusion method

Pultrusion is a continuous production process in which dry carbon fibers are pulled through a bath of epoxy resin and then through a heated core. The tube then passes through an oven to cure. The final step is cutting to lengths of up to 6m. Since no transverse fibers are used, the tube has a high stiffness in the longitudinal direction. As a result, a pultrusion tube is not suitable to take a torsional load. The outer surface is unpainted and without fabric finish.

CarbonWebshop’s pultrusion have very low thermal expansion, are chemical resistant and have a high rigidity.
