CarbonWebshop and Refitech have 33 years of experience in carbon composites. In line with our inventory of “ready to ship” standard products, we offer industrial services and post processing for both the professional and private sector.
Refitech uses this technique to process the carbon panels for the CarbonWebshop. Waterjet cutting is a way to cut shapes from almost any sheet material. With a blasting pressure of approximately 3800/4000 bar, this technique ensures clean cuts, a constant and high quality and no distortion or change of colour.
Multiple shapes are possible, which are loaded on the basis of a DXF-file, after which the machine will automatically process this. CarbonWebshop provides technical support and helps you with your design. We can also provide you with the composition or gluing.
It is also possible to make a composition of panels to be glued together, as a composite building kit. This way of lightweight construction fits in completely with our philosophy of low-threshold and affordable innovation with carbon fibre. With the Refiflex building system you can compose your own constructions. Refitech also provides customised product solutions by combining these standard products and their 30+ years of production knowledge. Because the material density of carbon is 450% lower than steel and almost 50% lower than aluminium, this results in huge weight savings.
How To Deliver Your Files?
If you want to opt for waterjet cutting as a post-processing method, you should pay attention to a number of things:
- Provide DXF-file (scale 1/1, contours only)
- PDF file with dimensions and tolerance (quality assessment)
- Minimum 3 mm between all contours and holes
- Minimum 3 mm material on the edges
- Minimum 3 mm for all holes
- No radius needed at outside corners
- Inside corners radius minimum 0.2 mm
- Only vertical lines possible
- No bevels possible
- Vertical cutting lines may be slightly visible
- Minor damage around the holes can occur
- No depth control
- Average composite cutting and milling tolerances of +/- 0.2 mm
The standard products from the CarbonWebshop can also be processed by means of CNC milling (Computer Numerical Control). If your product is equipped with more complex operations in both a plate or profile, we can perform these with the CNC machines. Milling moulded parts or profiles is also possible in combination with auxiliary moulds. In some cases a one-off investment is required, but we have already developed a number of setups ourselves through previous projects.
We have two automated milling machines especially for composite work (glass fibre and carbon). All standard products can be edited to your requirements. Refitech offers support by thinking along about your design. Refitech has specialists focused on composite, because the conditions are different from those for steel. For example, threads can be milled in carbon, but not in aluminium or steel. In this way connections with (metal) couplings can be made.
Sharing the composite milling process
First, the supplied CAD files are assessed by our engineers. Is it feasible and can we use these files? Then we will set the milling program, determine the clamping, determine the tool and program the method of machining. After the CNC code is ready for production, we will start producing the order. The composite parts are prepared and clamped in batch or individually. We do this clamping by means of auxiliary moulds or by means of vacuum. After clocking out and setting reference, milling can be started. After the product is ready, it is removed from the tools and we measure the most important dimensions based on the supplied PDF production drawings, in order to guarantee quality. This process is repeated until the order quantity has been produced.

Precision machining of composite products is a specialty and requires experience, special tools, and safe and dust-free production areas. Refitech and CarbonWebshop have this specialist experience. In addition to sawing, trimming, drilling and waterjet cutting, we also provide CNC finishing operations for industrial customers. In addition to these operations, we can provide you with the assembly and gluing of frames. Our engineers will contact you and assess the possibilities and the right production approach.
Based on the submitted CAD files, we come up with a technical proposal and a matching quotation. This is possible for single piece production as well as for larger batches and serial requests. We can edit all standard products that we offer online on the CarbonWebshop according to your wishes.

The standard tolerance on the products is stated in the datasheets. During a composition, we discuss what is realistic and feasible within your design. Note that the tolerances of composites are generally higher than for aluminium or steel.
CarbonWebshop can shorten round and rectangular tubes, and saw plates and panels to any desired length. You do not have to cut yourself and think about special tools and suction, we are happy to do it for you. We also offer special adhesives and accessories for properly bonding carbon to carbon or metal.
It is our ambition and focus to enable every engineer to construct low-threshold components with carbon fibre. That is why we now offer a wide range with various products, inserts and glue. This makes it possible to devise constructions yourself and to assemble and/or glue them together independently. This requires some knowledge of adhesives. The CarbonWebshop contains a basic explanation about gluing Refiflex frames. In addition to the products that can be ordered online, we also offer the technical services to have your frame or construction put together by us. We offer these composite services on the basis of a customized quotation proposal including engineering costs.
We have a fully equipped workspace at the Refitech production location in Waalwijk for assembling and gluing composites. In some cases, specific tools and moulds are required that we also make for you.
